Frequently Asked Questions

RETREATS + SOUL VACATIONS

Yes! Your all-inclusive rate includes room and board, programming, activities and more.

What extra expenses should you typically be aware of? Massages, extra excursions, alcoholic beverages, additional food, and your airfare.

We’ll send you a packing list in your welcome packet. On all of our retreats you’ll enjoy a perfect mix of weather (we plan for the best of the seasons). You’ll usually want your swimsuit, sun hat, tennis shoes (for mild to moderate hiking), comfy and breezy yoga clothes for lounging, a journal and a camera. We provide yoga mats and props so you can leave your gear at home.
Absolutely! Everything is better with friends.

While some of us prefer solo retreat time (and who doesn’t need a little escape from the stresses of everyday life?), many retreaters choose to invite a friend. If you RSVP with a friend, please let us know so we can prepare a special thank you for you both.

I think we would all agree that most things are more fun with friends… however you can absolutely travel by yourself! If you choose a shared room we will match you up with another solo traveler (just expect to come home with a new BFF).

On a personal note, we’ve fallen in love with every one of our retreat participants so we’re pretty certain you’ll be in excellent company.

This is so much more than just a yoga retreat. Yoga is just one tool in the mind, body, soul experience you will have on this retreat. But have no fear, prior yoga experience is not required at all. Our expert teachers specialize in making yoga accessible and fun in an all levels atmosphere where all students, from beginners to advanced students will feel welcome and supported.
You betcha! Shari and Mandy are super excited to offer one retreat a year that is co-ed. (We find our work with women the most powerful, so that’s where we concentrate.)

Often women who love the Women’s Weekend Retreats bring their husbands on the destination retreats. It’s a blast getting to know everyone and adventuring together.

With years of experience in multiple styles of yoga, your hosts create an exciting immersion for you. Our classes are appropriate for all ages and all levels (even beginners). Along with deep soul work, yoga is an important part of our retreat, so you’ll have the chance to sample vinyasa, bowspring, restorative, yoga nidra and everything in between.

P.S. Mandy’s classes are often a sweet and sweaty celebration. She loves to embody playfulness on the mat, gently exploring and encouraging poses to challenge and empower her students to keep learning, growing (and falling).

You’ll enjoy fresh meals–local and organic when possible. Our private chefs take all food allergies, sensitivities and preferences into account when planning our meals. We are friendly to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, low glycemic diets and more. (We totally understand how important this is. Really.)

The Enneagram is a system of self-discovery that melds beautifully with yoga, and it enlivens and deepens much of the Soul Nourish programming. The Enneagram works by providing insight into your intimate relationships (including your relationship to yourself!) through a personalized map for growth and freedom. It studies human nature and personality as a key to unlocking your gifts. It works hand-in-hand with practice of mindful Presence, empowering us with the tools we actually need to live life fully engaged — and to be kind to ourselves.

As teachers Don Riso & Russ Hudson explain: “The Enneagram is a profound and comprehensive system for understanding yourself and other people in your life with new depth and clarity. Because understanding yourself and others is so important, this knowledge has the power to change your life.”

Seva simply means selfless service in Sanskrit (An ancient Indian language most commonly associated with Yoga). While helping others is always beneficial for the greater good, it’s also believed that acts of service elevate the spiritual growth of an individual. As a part of our retreat experiences, our groups will have the opportunity to participate in Seva projects. Read more here.

WOMEN’S WEEKEND RETREATS

Yes! Your all-inclusive rate reserves your nightly accommodations, all of the yoga, group events and workshops, nature trails, and use of the jacuzzi, as well as healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We provide hot tea and coffee, water and yummy snacks, too. Booking a massage or spa treatment is optional, and rates and times will be available after you register.

We’ll spend the weekend enjoying a gorgeous retreat & wellness center in Dahlonega, GA, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll love the fresh air and colors of nature. Traditionally Cherokee land, its name is derived from the brilliant, sparkling gold in its soil. The mountains of North Georgia are home to waterfalls, wineries, art galleries and forests:

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like falling leaves.” -John Muir

We’ll send you a packing list in your welcome packet. Bring your yoga mat, a journal, your bathing suit for the jacuzzi and your favorite cozy blanket for yoga and bodywork. Plan on feeling comfortable and letting your self shine!
Absolutely! While some of us prefer solo retreat time (and who doesn’t need a little escape from the stresses of everyday life?), many women choose to invite a friend. We’ve seen mother-daughter weekends, best friends celebrating a bachelorette yoga weekend, and sisters’ weekend getaways—all of whom deepened their beautiful relationships on retreat. If you RSVP with a friend, please let us know so we can send a special welcome gift for you both.
